Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

At Captive Radiology, our team has extensive experience with MRI options available to healthcare providers. We can help you decide which MRI options will work best for you and your patients.

Overview

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues in your body.

MRI machines are usually large, tube-shape magnets. When lying in an MRI machine, the magnet realigns the body's water molecules. These aligned atoms produce signals, which are used to create MRI images.

MRI is a noninvasive way for your doctor to examine your organs, tissues and skeletal system. It produces high-resolution images of the inside of the body that help diagnose a variety of problems.
